Queen Mary Innovation Ltd and Barts Health NHS trust to launch crowdfunding platform in September 2016

Dr Natasa Levicar from QMI has launched crowdfunding project at Research Matters Conference on 24 May 2016. This is a new way to support and fund lifesaving and pioneering projects that can’t be funded through standard NHS funding. Barts Health crowdfunding platform will be donation based crowdfunding that runs on philanthropy. This enables our supporters and donors to connect and financially support the development and research of innovative projects for patients benefit.
The projects and crowdfunding campaigns could be for clinical research, developing medical device, NHS service improvement, basic science or public health project. It will fund both early ideas and ongoing projects that are aimed at benefiting patients. The immediate benefit of backing a campaign is to help to change people’s lives as well as improving the effectiveness of services at Barts Health NHS Trust.
